Nice preloader....

But, it's really not enough to make the cut all by itself. I'm hoping this is an upload glitch, becuase the author's notes sound interesting.

Short but interesting

The animation is pretty good. Pump up the volume on the sound a bit, though.

You're showing a wicked sense of humor and I hope that continures throughout the series. There's an old zombie cop movie called "Dead Heat" starring Joe Piscopo. If you can find it, you ought to be able to lift some gags.

"Good writers borrow. Great writers steal!"--SJ Perelman (best known for writing the Marx Brothers Movies)

Tetsubo responds:

My sound equipment is a lot better than the days of recording through my laptop, the script was written up already but thanks for the offer anyway, unfortunately it doesn't look like this series will happen any time soon, it was just too big for my current knowledge and skills of Flash.

Excellent Animation

Cute chix and a great song. I can't wait for someone to do a sim date game.

And I'm cutting this review short so that I can go right to the site.

Nice vignette

Minimalist, smooth animation, good gags, nice buildup and the perfect choice of music. You could almost see Buster Keaton doing that scene.

It was particularly funny for me, because I used to share housing with a starling who had an extensive repertoire. Kitten mews and cats puking, the answering machine, the word "grape," (a favorite treat) and most annoyingly--my wife's voice calling me. He would wait until he saw me through the bedroom window leaving the house and scream my name. I'd run back to see what she wanted. It took us weeks to figure it out and only because she caught him at it.

The Series was good...

Now, it's better

I liked the teaser scene at the end of chapter 3. But now it's looks like having become a storyline, including some of Ken's backstory.

Violence is entertaining, but I'm a sucker for character development. I've learned that if you create vivid enough characters, they write the stories for you.

I think there's room for improvement, but 5\5 anyway.

Trixiaoyu responds:

Yea.. this animation was kinda getting pointless... so I thought Id add sum BG story! lol!

Thanks 4 da Review Anyways! ^^
You know... CVS Battle Royale 5 is coming Soooooooooon...

I hope V_V'

Nice retrospective.

I would have liked to see some animation, but you delivered on what you promised.

It's a classic case of skill growing to match vision, especially in the early years segement when it seemed like each drawing was better than the previous. But there was, throughout a definite progression as the drawings got more sophisticated and expressive.

It was an especially nice touch the way you revisited old images to show how you handled them as your skill improved.

It'll probably get blammed on general principles, but it's really some good work.

Nice concept, poor execution

You clearly know a thing or two about first wave trailers--the teasers that are sent out a year or so before a film's release date, often before it's even in the can.

But you need to work on lighting. Some of the titles, especially the all important film title were so poorly lit as to be illegible. Leaving them up a few frames longer would help too.

Remember, all you gave yourself to work with was some cool sound, attention getting backgrounds and text. So, you want to be sure that people can read the text.

How it's done

I'm glad you finished it. Smooth animation, well drawn characters and my favorite Joni Mitchell song nicely covered.

Having spent a lot of years with Greenpeace before the went all corporate in '96, it was a real treat for me. Thank you.

If you feel like doing another piece in the same vein sometime, I'd recommend John Prine's "Paradise" or John Anderson's "Seminole Wind." Both are highly evocative and would both suggest animation and complement it nicely.

Oh that is just sooooo wrong!

I love it, hilarious. The animation was funny of itself and the song, with the substitution of "boys" in a blatantly different voice in the song made it rock. And to answer the previous reviewer's question, yeah they did have that kind of trouble.

Authoritarian and totalitarian regimes of all political leanings are all about keeping the masses in a permanent state of panic so that the ruling party can grant itself ever greater ammounts of power.
They want that power for the purpose of abusing it--to satisfy their desires.

And child molestation is the ultimate thrill for a chronic power abuser.

That's why GOP now stands for Gang Of Pedophiles.

Nice start to the series.

You did a nice dreamy montage to introduce the characters. The animation was well done and the slow speed enhanced the dreamlike\flashback quality. I haven't seen your storytelling skills yet, but you've shown that you know how to do a Titles Sequence, which this piece would have been for a feature film or TV series episode. You've obviously been watching some good anime'.

I'm an old fan of Steeleye Span, Leslie Fish and the Childe Ballads, so the song raised what should have been a 4\5 to 5\5. Please credit the song in future episodes, preferably with a "buy" link.

I've got way too much time on my hands. And I'm not afraid to use it.
