Betty Boop vs. The Demonic Toys?

Well, maybe not, but still a great tribute to vintage cartoons. You handled the style perfectly. And the song blended 30's swing with 21st Century alt in some interesting ways. I'll have to watch your other submissions, but this Dr. Steel character looks like becoming a great comic villain.

I am a fan of both modern and 30's swing music and cartoons. When I heard this song, the images you witness where what my mind saw the very first time. Thanks for calling it a tribute!
As for Dr Steel, he is not only a great comic villain, he is our next Emperor! Visit www.doctorsteel.com and join his toy soldier army today!

Like. wow man!

That was cosmic and comic. Really good animation, better drafting than is common here as well.

Cool cautionary tale about greed and Kharma. The universe really does get him. Also nice contrast, with the innocent able to hold the cosmos without danger.

Hey! Hey!, do that brand new thing!

As annoying as whiggers are to you, I'm assured that black people find them worse.

What's even funnier is watching a bunch of whitebread suburban black kids trying to be urban. These three preppie black chix committed karaoke on Beyonce's "I want a soldier," and the whole joint busted a gut laughing.

That might be a subject for another video. Also, try to animate something next time. Even a waving arm would make the piece more visually interesting and get you a higher score.

bkdude responds:

yeah if i make another one ill add some graphics :-)

thanks for constructive criticism

You are way too young...

For that song. The animation was lame. The joke didn't work. But you get 3\5 for the song.

There are 3 songs young people shouldn't mess with, because there's no wy to get what they're about until life's kicked you around some.

Those 3 songs are "Heart of Gold," "My way,"(Which it shoukld be illegal for anyone uinder 40 to sing, and the Grateful Dead's "Truckin'" (Which has special meaning for me because the trip has been long and strange.)

Good art, even great art can come from anyone of any age. But it comes from what you know. It doesn't work to try to pull it from somewhere you won't be for a long time.

BlueBlobClock responds:

You are also obviously way too old to be on newgrounds, lol. THanks for the review though, sir.

Way funny!

Link should either stay clear of chickens or get a weasel for a sidekick. In any case, thanx for bringing these "outtakes" to light.

Really good build up and great use of a running gag.

P-A-S responds:

LOL ya he should get a weasel for a sidekick XD if I use it in the next movie i'll put you in the credits XD

I think I've dated that chick.

Except for the high quality animation, that could have been stolen from a cable access talk show. Funny as hell and too close to the truth. More importly, you took the time to set up the main joke which is more important than the premise. With gags, it's the delivery that makes it work. Even the funniest joke is lame if you rush it.

I hope you've got more coming. 5\5

Needs better Scripting

The Mike Meyers|Michael Meyers thing was a funny bit. But you should have developed it more and Maybe used his Wayne and Garth characters instead of Austin Powers so as to make him more recognizable. Also JLC is still quite the babe and her image in your toon should reflect her GILF status.

Redo this and really work at putting in more gags and making the audio clearer.

FYI Jamie Lee Curtis DID star in Halloween "H20" which was released in 1998 or 99.

Coddingtown-Reject responds:

Jamie Lee Curtis DID star in Haloween H20, yes, but not in Friday the 13th 1999, or any of the Friday the 13th series that I'm aware of.

Good fun!

Ok. Shaun of the dead it aint. But the animation worked. The humor was dry and salty and I can just picture Ali Landry and William Sean Scott doing that scene in a movie.

The Stone's "Paint it black," was a nice choice. Because of it's being about grief. And the architype that resonates to Zombie movies is not letting go of our dead and what a bad idea it is to have them back.

The title says it all

Nice mix of animation styles, good sound and music. Some pretty funny gags, enough to cover the ones that weren't. (Which is how Saturday Night Live has managed to stay on the Air so long.)

One thing I do disagree with. Many guys my age admire Kiss. Oddly enough, it's their ballads that hold up best. And partly because Gene Simmons has shacked up with hottie Shannon Tweed for nearly 20 years, is raising two kids with her and didn't even have to marry her. Of course, having a nine inch tongue probably an asset. Oh, and Cheerios are pretty good even without a sweetener. Which along with their artery cleaning powers is something you'll come to appreciate as you get older.

But I won't detract from a well earned 5\5 for quibbles like that.

edenscancer responds:

Yeah lol. I actually In reality have no problem with KISS. And believe me Gene simmons is the man. I just bust on them constantly because I met gene and peter criss once down in new york city Gene was all like "man I wish people weren't so damned afraid of us! I hell! For once I wish someone would bust our god damned balls!" So I in turn called him a gay cowboy. I've never seen peter criss laugh so fuckin hard lol.

Yea! somebody gets it.

The animation was ok, but what saves this piece is the length. Even lame jokes are funny if you pile enough of them on. And doing a topper on the shark gag shows you have the right instincts.

As S.J. Perelman said: "Good writers borrow, Great writer's steal. So start studying comedy. The marx brothers movies(Perelman was their gag writer, anything by the Zucker Brothers or Even Shakespeare, (He stole most of his gags from the Roman Plautus, who stole them from the Greek Aristophanes,)And, of Course, Terry Pratchett's novels are great source material.

I've got way too much time on my hands. And I'm not afraid to use it.
